What we treat

Expert cancer care, focused on you.

Texas Cancer Specialists provides advanced radiation oncology care for a wide range of cancers, with treatment plans designed around your diagnosis, your overall health and your goals.

Our radiation oncologists work closely with the physicians already involved in your care, including surgeons, medical oncologists and other specialists, to help develop a coordinated treatment strategy.

Cancers we treat

Find your diagnosis.

Grouped by where in the body a cancer starts. Every plan is built around the individual, not the category, so two people with the same diagnosis may be treated differently.

  1. Prostate Cancer

From newly diagnosed prostate cancer to recurrent disease, radiation therapy can be an alternative to surgery or one part of a broader plan agreed with your urologist.

When cancer reaches the bone it can be painful. Radiation is one of the most reliable ways to settle that pain, often in a single visit or a short course, and it can also strengthen a bone at risk of breaking.

Bone metastases, including spine, pelvis, rib and long bones

  11. Lymphoma and Other Cancers

Radiation therapy plays an important role in lymphoma and sarcoma, and in cancer that has spread from where it started to sites other than bone.

    Lymphomas, sarcomas, other metastatic cancers

  12. Non-Cancer and Supportive Care

Low-dose radiation for osteoarthritis, treatment of selected benign conditions, and palliative radiation to relieve pain and other symptoms when a cure is not the aim.

Cancer care should not happen in silos.

Cancer treatment often involves more than one specialist, and the best plan may combine surgery, radiation therapy and systemic therapy. Our radiation oncologists work with the physicians involved in your diagnosis so that radiation fits into the larger picture of your care.

Precision radiation therapy, personalized to your cancer.

No two cancers, and no two patients, are exactly alike. Your radiation oncologist considers the type and location of your cancer, its stage, previous treatments, your overall health and the recommendations of the other physicians involved in your care before developing a treatment plan.

Advanced techniques

IMRT, SBRT, image-guided radiation therapy and other advanced approaches for highly precise treatment.

Personalized plans

Treatment is tailored to your diagnosis, your goals and your unique situation, and checked before anything is delivered.

Palliative care

Palliative radiation can help relieve symptoms and improve quality of life when that is the right aim.

Multidisciplinary care

Ongoing collaboration with your entire care team, so decisions are made together rather than in isolation.

Sometimes radiation is not the first step.

Our goal is not simply to deliver radiation. It is to help determine where radiation fits into your overall cancer treatment. Depending on your diagnosis, the best approach may be radiation therapy, surgery, systemic therapy, active surveillance or a combination of treatments. Our physicians work with you and the other members of your care team to help determine the appropriate path forward.
